This course is designed to prepare students to be responsible and successful babysitters. Learn to handle emergencies, select safe toys and games, supervise children, feed and dress infants, prepare food and much more! Students should be 11 years old by the class date to enroll. Attention Drivers Ed eligible students and families:
Blue Earth Area High School offers Drivers Education as a free optional for-credit class during the school year for 9th graders. Choose this option if you like while registering your current 8th grader for their 9th grade class schedule.
Community Ed also offers a Summer Drivers Ed classroom session for anyone preferring to take it in the summer, rather than during the school year.
Students who opt for the Community Ed Summer Session will be responsible for paying the classroom fee of $170 as well as the Behind the Wheel fee of $230, and will forgo earning high school credit.

Our first Bucs Detective Agency class of the season is in the books! 🕵️♀️🕵️♂️
These sharp little detectives were on the case and successfully found & rescued Otis… but the investigation didn’t stop there! After gathering clues and examining the evidence, they uncovered proof pointing to Miss Hanson as the guilty party! 👀
Case closed (for now)! We can’t wait to see who’s next on the suspect list. 🔎✨

Firearms Safety
(Youth age 12 by 9/1/26 and/or Adults)
Youth and adults interested in hunting or Firearms Safety are invited to enroll in a Minnesota DNR Firearms Safety Course. Students must be at least 12 years of age by September 1, 2026. A parent or legal guardian must attend the first class to complete the registration paperwork for the DNR. A final test and field trial are mandatory for completion of this class. Attendance is mandatory at all sessions (There will not be any make-up dates). Register with Community Ed before April 6.

You’ll learn simple watercolor techniques while working on adorable 2x3 or 3x3 inch designs—perfect for framing or gifting! In just a few hours, you can learn enough secrets of the trade to give you years of musical enjoyment. Learn to play piano the way professionals do—using chords. Since this class is being held online with ZOOM, you will be able to sit at your piano or keyboard at home and take this course with no pressure at all. And since this course includes an online book and follow-up video lessons, you will be able to continue your practice and study on your own. An optional weekly periodic online questions and answer session is also included. A recording of the class is included as well. The course is partly lecture/demonstration and partly hands-on instruction.
