Pamyua is Alaska’s most famous Inuit band! Their performances honor and share indigenous Inuit cultural traditions through ceremony and songs passed down through generations. Their unique performances blend traditional Inuit drum/dance melodies with contemporary R&B and soul music, often referred to as “tribal funk” or “Inuit soul.” On Tuesday, we were fortunate to have Pamyua visit BEA Elementary School,; students enjoyed learning about the inuit culture through music and were able to see the similarities and differences to their own culture. We are grateful for the enriching experience of welcoming individuals from different cultures, expanding our horizons and deepening our understanding of the world around us. 🌍🤝 Learn more about "Pamyua" by watching this short PBS sponsored video: https://youtu.be/gjr4sNy9P9U

🎨📚Rick Chrustowski, author and illustrator of children's books such as Bee Dance and My Little Fox, made a visit to Blue Earth Area Elementary School this week, where he talked to the audience about how he finds his book inspirations in nature and how a book is written from start to finish. It's also a special treat that the school library now has a drawing of a hummingbird from his visit, serving as a lasting reminder of the event. You can find our more about this author on his website at https://www.rickchrustowski.com/ and you can check out his books by visiting our area libraries. #beabucpride 📸 book cover photo credit to rickchrustowski.com

Today, we celebrate the unsung heroes who keep our spaces clean and welcoming. Our custodians operate behind the scenes, and they are often under-appreciated for the hard work they do day after day. Thank you, custodial workers, for turning chaos into order, and for making our world a brighter, more beautiful place. We recognize that you are the ones who respond first to our emergencies, and we see you taking care of our buildings and spaces, as well as the people in them. Thank you for all you do! ❤️💛 #beabucpride

Amateur sleuths needed! 🎨🖌This mural was painted on the boys' locker room office wall (in what is now the Middle School) before Coach Kuechenmeister arrived in Blue Earth in 1986. Does anyone know who painted it, or can you help decipher the signature? #YouCantHideBucaneerPride!

When we catch our teachers and staff cheering on their students at weekend football games, we know we've got some real MVPs! All three of the 4th grade BEA teachers - Ms. Groves, Mrs. Bell, and Mrs. Maloney - along with paraprofessional Carter, were out there in Mankato, showing their support at the 4th and 5th grade Buc Football games over the weekend. Talk about team spirit! 🏈🙌
