🤩🎉Congratulations to Mrs. Sickler and Mrs. Allard, winners of the K-7 Buc Pride Awards for October! Both were nominated by colleagues for their efforts and leadership.
Here are a few of the comments below to highlight them.

Mrs. Sickler:
⭐️Kim shows her dedication in such profound ways, I can hardly keep track. If a teacher has a question, she will not only answer that question, but come to you in person and ensure that everything is covered. She'll even throw together some resources for you! She is creative in her lessons with her students, she works hard at building individual relationships with them, she goes above and beyond to work with parents, and make sure her class's needs are covered. She's inventive, and resourceful. She's an amazing team player and is that type of person to make everyone feel not only involved, but valued. She is thoughtful and professional with teachers, staff, and families alike. She makes sure that we, as teachers, are taking care of ourselves and knows our rights and responsibilities as professionals and as human beings. She's an incredible PLC leader of leaders. Kim acts with selflessness, compassion, and understanding to everyone she meets. She truly wants Blue Earth Area to not only be the best place for educators, but for students and families. She sees potential in everyone and everything, and makes that potential become a reality.

Mrs. Allard:
⭐️Always willing to go above and beyond!
⭐️She is always willing to help out no matter what! She is very supportive and there for staff! If you have an idea she is always willing to listen!
⭐️She is always willing to help anyone who needs it. She is an amazing teacher who always takes the time to understand the kids and their learning needs. She always makes learning fun according to my own kid !

💡Mrs. Eckhardt's Chemistry in the Community class has been working towards a proposal about an alternative material to produce U.S. money.

One of the focuses in this discussion has been around copper. As we've been discussing how metals form electrically charged species through chemical reactions, we tried making our own homemade batteries out of pennies, cardboard, vinegar, and tin foil.

After an initial fail (typical of science), we did some research, proposed alternative ideas, and had success in creating enough current to power a small light bulb! Students were at the center of the engineering and iterative design process that makes science so intriguing and rewarding. Props to the whole class for hard work and persistence!

Our high schoolers had an amazing opportunity yesterday at Construct Tomorrow! 🛠️🏗️

Students spent the morning exploring hands-on activities in a variety of skilled trades, everything from carpentry and welding to electrical work, heavy equipment operation, pipefitters, cement masons and more. They were able to ask questions, test out real tools, and connect with industry professionals who shared insight into the many high-demand, high-skill career pathways and apprenticeships training programs.

Events like this help students discover their strengths, spark new interests, and open doors to future careers they may not have considered before. A huge thank you to South Central Workforce Council who made this day possible! 🔨✨

We are proud to celebrate 122 out of 165 middle school students who earned a spot on the honor roll! What an incredible accomplishment! 🎉

Thank you, TAFCO, for supporting and inspiring our learners!

🍎📖American Education Week is all about celebrating the amazing team of people who help our students learn and grow—from paras and office staff to bus drivers, the tech office, and students service workers. Each one plays an important part in supporting students and families and keeping our schools running strong.

Let's take a moment this week to thank the education support professionals who care for, support, and protect our students. They make public education possible every day. 👏👏👏

📚✨ Author Visit Highlight! ✨📚

We were thrilled to welcome Mary Casanova to our school! Our 2nd and 3rd graders had a fantastic time learning about authors, how they write stories, and the creative process behind books.

This special visit was made possible through a partnership with Blue Earth Area Elementary School, Blue Earth Community Library, Friends of the Blue Earth Community Library, and the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Traverse des Sioux Library Cooperative, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this inspiring experience possible for our students! 🧡
