This post is the second in a series of three to be posted each week outlining the work of the district and our new strategic plan that we have been working on the last three months….
After wrapping up two full days of retreats last Spring, the District Leadership Team created a document that outlines the Desired Daily Experiences (DDE) for our students, our staff, and our families. These DDE lists several bullet points that target what we want our students, staff, and families to experience here at Blue Earth Area Schools. All DDE’s for each group include a target of all groups feeling valued, respected, engaged, heard, and provided opportunities.
In addition to the DDE, our District Leadership Team created a set of Vision Cards, which outlines our targeted goals for student achievement, Social Emotional Learning, and Professional Development. These Vision Cards will guide our work to improve student achievement and the social emotional health of our students and staff. The progress on these Vision Cards will be shared quarterly at our school board meetings.
In August, both our District Leadership and School Board met for another two days of work on finalizing the Strategic Roadmap for BEA Schools. The purpose of the School Board retreat in August was to re-visit the district’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values and ensure they were still applicable for the district today. As a result of the day’s work, some of these statements remained similar, and some were changed altogether…..
