Second Chance Breakfast!

Not hungry right way in the morning or need something to get you through until lunch? Come join us for second chance breakfast every day between first and second period!  

Students that qualify for free and reduced lunch also qualify for free and reduced breakfast.  In order for this status to be recognized the student must purchase a reimbursable meal.  Examples of qualifying meals are explained below.  Each student only qualifies for one reimbursable breakfast per day.  However, they are able to purchase another meal or other items at a la carte prices.  For example, if they had breakfast in the morning then they wouldn’t be able to get a free or reduced breakfast at second chance but could purchase more food if they wanted.  

What Qualifies as a Reimbursable Breakfast?

A reimbursable breakfast must include at minimum the following

• Entree of 2 whole grain-rich servings or 1 whole grain-rich serving and 1 protein serving.
• Must include ½ cup of fruit or vegetable
• Milk must be offered but doesn’t need to be taken
• A protein, such as string cheese, will be served along items that only contain 1 whole grain-rich serving.  These items include a cereal bar, muffin, or a breakfast snack bread. With any other items a string cheese will be charged ala carte at $0.40.

Reimbursable Meal Examples:

• 1 cinnamon roll (2 grain servings) and a juice (½ cup fruit)
• 1 muffin (1 grain serving), a cheese stick (1 protein serving), and an apple (½ of fruit)
• 1 Sausage, Egg, and Cheese Biscuit (1 grain serving and 1 protein serving), and a juice (½ cup fruit)
• Any extra items not part of the reimbursable meal will be charged extra as a la carte.

A la Carte and Paid Breakfast Pricing:

Paid Full Meal: $1.70

Fruit: $1.00

Extra Entree: $1.00

Juice or Milk: $0.40

String Cheese: $0.40
