Hello BEA Families,
We hope you had a restful and rejuvenating Thanksgiving break. Many illnesses are circulating in Minnesota, and Covid is still one of them. I wanted to remind families of some of the procedures and resources in place to help mitigate the spread of Covid-19 as well as other illnesses.
Masks: Per MDH and CDC guidelines, masks are highly recommended for all people when indoors in public, regardless of vaccination status. Faribault County remains at a high level of community transmission.
Quarantine: We continue with our policy to have unvaccinated or partially-vaccinated household members quarantine when another member of the household is positive for Covid-19. Please call BEA Schools and speak with Ann Crofton, RN, Licensed School Nurse if there is a positive case in your household.
Staying home when sick: Ill people should not be at school. If your child is ill, please keep him or her home, and call the office each day to report the absence.
Testing: BEA Schools are able to test asymptomatic and/or exposed students and staff for Covid. Email [email protected] to inquire about scheduling a rapid test. Symptomatic individuals can schedule a test with a local provider, or seek out a community testing site.
Vaccination: Covid vaccine is now available for all people ages five and over. Locally, you can call Human Services of Faribault & Martin Counties (507-526-3265) or UHD Clinics (507-526-7388) to ask about vaccine appointments. UHD Clinics are hosting vaccine events for children ages 5-11 on both December 1 and December 22.
We are grateful for our partnerships with BEA families and with community organizations who are all working together to make this year the best it can be. Thank you for your continued support and communication.
Sincerely,
Ann Crofton, RN, MS
