Mission
The Blue Earth Area School Foundation, a nonprofit organization, is working to enhance the educational opportunities for the students of Independent School District 2860. Life-long learning is a prerequisite for success in a rapidly changing society. Through the Foundation, we have a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative programs, fund special equipment and library needs, and otherwise promote projects and programs to enhance learning opportunities for children.
History of the Organization
The Blue Earth Area School Foundation was established in 1998. The Foundation is an all-volunteer organization with no paid staff and minimal overhead expenses, allowing the maximum benefit for our students.
The Foundation seeks to reduce student fundraising activities by holding a limited number of Foundation fundraisers throughout the year. The largest of these events is the annual Maroon & Gold Gala. Held each year on the Saturday before Thanksgiving, this fun-filled evening unities people throughout the district in supporting our students.
Since its beginning, over a half a million dollars in educational enhancements and programs have been provided for Blue Earth Area students – opportunities and items that would not have been possible without Foundation support.
Purpose of the Foundation
The Blue Earth Area School Foundation exists to support the mission of our local public school. The primary focus of the Foundation is providing funding for creative and innovative programs, activities and equipment that supplement and enhance the educational process.
This District has creative employees with innovative ideas for improving the learning experiences of students, but moving forward requires additional resources. The Blue Earth Area School Foundation provides an efficient way for individuals and businesses to contribute to the success of our students and help build a strong and vibrant educational system. Education is a key economic development tool for the area. A strong school benefits all the surrounding communities.
Ways to give
- Cash gifts create the most immediate impact and give the Foundation the greatest flexibility. Annual gifts and one time gifts are always appreciated.
- Donating toward and attending the Annual Maroon & Gold Gala.
- Memorials and Special Remembrances, Securities, Real estate, Life insurance, Gift Annuities, Life Income Agreements, Bequests and Special trusts.
The Blue Earth Area School Foundation is a 501(C)3 organization. Contributions are tax deductible.
